About 70,000 participants from nearly 50 countries and regions ran the 2013 Fubon Taipei Marathon Sunday morning.
Kenyan runner Josphat Kamzee Jepkopol won the men's title in 2 hours, 14 minutes and 10 seconds, and Rebecca Kangogo Chesire, also from Kenya, claimed victory in the women's competition in 2 hours, 33 minutes and 20 seconds, reports Xinhua.
They winners claimed a reward worth $40,000.
The race started at 7 a.m. local time at the plaza in front of Taipei's city government, and it rained throughout the time it took the runners to finish.
