Over 78 percent of the electorate cast their vote in the fifth phase of West Bengal assembly polls, the Election Commission said here on Saturday.
"Till 5 p.m., 78.25 percent electorate had cast their vote," Deputy Election Commissioner Sandeep Saxena told reporters here.
He said tight security measures had been made for the polls.
Saxena said there were reports of some clashes and three first information reports (FIRs) had been filed.

Polling took place in 53 constituencies in the fifth and penultimate phase of the West Bengal assembly polls on Saturday.
