As many as 88 criminal gangs were busted in Pakistan's Sindh province during the holy month of Ramadan. In all, 18 dacoits and four terrorists were killed and 2,296 arrests were made, the Geo News reported Monday citing a police report.
The statistics were revealed in a Ramadan performance report presented to the province's Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shahid Nadeem Baloch.
During the 29 days of Ramadan, there were 244 police encounters in the province and 88 gangs of criminals were busted, said a poilce spokesperson.
Some 10 kg of explosive, 25 detonators, 12 hand grenades, four devices, a suicide jacket, 637 pistols, 17 rifles, 64 shot guns, 30 submachine gun, one light machine guns and 11,578 rounds were recovered from the accused's possession, he added.
