Actress Aanushka Ramesh, best known for playing Sona in the 2016 Punjabi film "Canada Di Flight", will make her Bollywood debut with the upcoming film "Mangal Ho".
"After my debut in Punjabi films with 'Canada Di Flight', which was a successful debut, I got this offer and I was more than delighted to grab this one," Aanushka said in a statement.
"'Mangal Ho' is a sci-fi comedy film and we have shot 50 percent of the film. I am playing the female lead in the film whose name is Khushi Armstrong. She is a nerd and a highly intelligent girl," she added.
Directed by Prithwish Chakraborty, the film also stars Sanjay Mishra, Annu Kapoor, Vrajesh Hirjee and Mukesh Bhatt.
Apart from direction, Prithwish will also star in the film as Budhhi De.
Sharing about how she got the role, Aanushka said: "The audition process was long for the role. Initially, I was a bit skeptical but when I heard the story I got attracted to the subject. This story is about the first Indian to go to Mars."

Though her family has an academic background, Aanushka says her passion for acting brought her to the entertainment industry.
"My family is full of academics and I was also good in studies. It's been two years in the industry and I feel my passion is the driving force," she said.
"My family has always been supportive. I'm a very hardworking person and I think industry is like a mountain you need to climb high with your hard work and focus. I love the challenges," she added.
Before venturing into film, Aanushka had also featured in a music video titled "Intezaar" alongside actor Himanshoo Malhotra. The track was sung by Jazim Sharma.
