The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday accused the Centre of compromising with national security by partnering with a currency paper supplier who was earlier blacklisted for working with a fake currency nexus.

The AAP alleged that De La Rue, a UK based banknote manufacturer, security printing, and papermaking company was blacklisted in India.

Dilip Pandey, AAP Delhi convener, said that De La Rue supplied the same paper used for printing Indian currency to the terror nexus in Pakistan indulging in printing of fake currency.

"The company was not only white-listed but also partnering with the government on Modi's ambitious 'Make in India' project," Dilip Pandey said.

Pandey alleged that the new Rs 2,000 note is also being printed on paper supplied by De La Rue.

"We want to ask Prime Minster Modi that why is he partnering with a company which is at the same time partnering with Pakistan, terror outfits, counterfeit currency printers and enemy of the nation," Pandey said.
