The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday held simultaneous protests against the Mayors of the three Municipal Corporations of Delhi (MDC) on the issue of sanitation and vector-borne diseases.
Labour Minister Gopal Rai, who participated in the protests against East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) and North Delhi Municipal Corporation (North MCD) Mayors, branded the Bharatiya Janata Party-run MCDs to be an acronym for Malaria, Chikungunya and Dengue.
Addressing the gathering here, he said that the AAP has to fight MCD elections not to become councillors but to make Delhi the cleanest and the best city in the nation and the world.
At another protest against South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), AAP leader Dilip Pandey said that the protests against the mayors is just a beginning.
"We will sweep out both the BJP and the Congress in the upcoming MCD elections through our broom," he said.
Earlier in the day, the AAP's national spokesperson Richa Pandey said that the BJP-ruled MCDs are completely exposed.
