AAP legislator Naresh Balyan was Thursday questioned by the Delhi Police Crime Branch in connection with the seizure of over 8,000 bottles of liquor from his house before the assembly election.
Balyan, who reached the Crime Branch office in New Delhi's Chanakyapuri along with his advocate, was questioned for around two hours.
"Balyan joined the probe Thursday morning, a day after he was sent the fourth summons in the case," a police official said.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator from Uttam Nagar constituency came under the police radar after the Crime Branch found 497 cartons containing 8,352 bottles of liquor in his house in Uttam Nagar's Om Vihar area Jan 31. The bottles were labelled "for sale in Haryana".
Police had then registered a case against unidentified people and started a probe.
Police said the liquor was brought to Delhi from Haryana's Bahadurgarh, and they had informed the Election Commission about the incident.
