An Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) member on Sunday filed a complaint against unidentified people for manhandling and attacking him during the party's National Executive meeting held here on Saturday, police said.

Ramzan Choudhary, in a two-page written complaint, alleged that some "bouncers" of the AAP assaulted him at the meeting.

A probe has been initiated by the Kapashera police station, where Choudhary lodged the complaint.

"We have accepted a two-page written complaint given by Ramzan Choudhary this (Sunday) evening," Deputy Commissioner of Police R.A. Sanjeev told IANS.

"Choudhary claimed that he was manhandled and physically attacked by some unknown people. We have initiated a probe but are yet to file an FIR because he came to us more than 24 hours after the purported incident," Sanjeev said.

The officer said Choudhary's medical examination was conducted by the police. The report was awaited.

After the AAP's national council on Saturday, Choudhary alleged that he was thrashed and kicked when he sought more discussion on the ouster of the party's founding members Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan.

The AAP has rubbished Choudhary's claims, saying the meeting was "peaceful".

Amid high drama, the AAP on Saturday sacked both Yadav and Bhushan from the party's national executive, accusing them of carrying out anti-party activities.
