Delhi's ruling Aam Aadmi Party on Monday staged protest outside the residence of North Delhi Mayor Preeti Aggarwal, who is facing allegations of large-scale corruption and undergoing a vigilance inquiry.
Aggarwal, of the Bharatiya Janata Party, has been accused of charging a 10 per cent cut in clearing tenders worth crores.
On December 28 last year, Lt Governor Anil Baijal's office had received a complaint from a Supreme Court lawyer against Aggarwal which was forwarded to the Chief Vigilance Officer, asking for examination of the letter's contents.
"BJP's silence on the issue proves that other party leaders were also involved in this scam," AAP leader Dilip Pandey said in a statement.
"They could not find any fault in AAP ministers' files that were forcibly brought to the Lt Governor's office. Despite that BJP leaders have been benefited by the scam, there have been no proper inquiry in the case," he said.
"There has been pretence in the name of probe.
