Around 500 AAP workers staged a protest outside the Tihar Jail here, after party leader Arvind Kejriwal was taken inside the jail premises following a court's order sending him to judicial custody, police said.
The police detained Aam Aadmi Party leaders, including Manish Sisodia, Yogendra Yadav, and Sanjay Singh, after they refused to budge from the site - Gate No.3 of the Tihar Jail.
Yadav and Singh were dragged by policemen and put into a bus along with several supporters.
The protest, which began around 7 p.m., led to a traffic snarl - up to five km - in areas like Delhi Cantt in south Delhi.
The protestors raised slogans against Bharatiya Janata Party leader Nitin Gadkari.
"We are here in solidarity with our colleague. It is ironical that those who are fighting against corruption are behind bars while the corrupt are outside," said Yadav.
A Delhi court Wednesday sent Kejriwal to two-day judicial custody after he refused to furnish a personal bail bond in a defamation case filed by Gadkari.
