Afghan security forces killed five militants after raiding a Taliban hideout in Assadabad, the capital of Kunar province, an official said Saturday.
"The security forces with aircrafts pounded a Taliban hideout in Chapa Dara district late Friday killing five Taliban rebels," district police chief Najibullah told Xinhua.
No security personnel was injured in the raid, he added.
The Taliban militants in reaction have captured and killed a civilian on charge of working with the government forces, Najibullah said.
