District authorities here on Saturday released a detailed plan for setting their own record by planting more than six lakh saplings as Uttar Pradesh is all geared up to set a new world record by planting five crore saplings across the state on July 11.
Agra District Magistrate Pankaj Kumar said all government departments and village panchayats have been entrusted with the task of planting saplings at previously identified places. Strict monitoring of the exercise would ensure there were no false claims.
A Dutch company is going to record the sapling plantation work in the state, according to officials.
District Forest Officer K.K. Singh said 6,70,803 saplings would be planted at 80 spots in the district.
