Actor Kamal Haasan on Saturday said agriculture should be categorised as an industry for the benefit of all.
Speaking at a meeting organised by some farmer bodies, Haasan said one could live without cinema but not without food or water.
He said agriculture should be classified as an industry so that everybody could live.
The actor also said that cooperative societies should provide loans to farmers without slapping conditions and that the Cauvery Management Board should be set up fast.
Haasan, who is planning a political plunge, said his fan club members would meet the farmers in groups and requested the farmers to work with the fan club members.
