On the day Kolkata football club East Bengal launched its mobile app, the All India Football Federation too unveiled its I-league app here.
"The All India Football Federation is pleased to announce that the official mobile app for the Hero I-League is finally available on the android and iOS platforms," said an official release on the I-League website.
"The mobile app is designed by YouFoot Ltd, and it features the News, Features and Interviews listed in the official website - www.i-league.org - as well as add-ons like the Results & Fixtures, the points table, polls, and also LIVE Commentary during the matches," said the release.
There is also the added advantage of getting 'live push' notifications of one's favourite I-League clubs during the game, and keeping updated with all the instant updates of the game actions - goals, bookings, and so on.
AIFF general secretary Kushal Das said: "Launching the mobile app for the I-League was one of the several initiatives taken by the AIFF for the further promotion of Indian Football as a whole."
"Connecting with a wider fanbase was definitely the drive for this initiative and I hope the mobile app will be happily welcomed by the I-League fans and it will strengthen the fanbase of the competition."
The I-League is the Premier Club Football Competition of India, which started in 2007, after the disbanding of the National Football League.
