Bureau of Energy Efficiency director general Ajay Mathur on Wednesday said he would join The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) as its new director general once the central government relieves him.
"I have to be relieved by the government to join TERI," Mathur told IANS here.
He was here to inaugurate the psychrometric lab set by Danish group Danfoss.
On July 23, TERI governing council removed environmentalist R.K. Pachauri as director general and replaced him with Mathur.
Pachauri is accused of sexually harassing a junior colleague.
Mathur said he did not agree that the circumstance under which he will join TERI will ease the pressure on him to outshine Pachauri.
According to Mathur, each institution has its own strengths and one has to go on building upon that.
