The Shiromani Akali Dal Tuesday announced the names of its candidates for the four of the 70 constituencies in Delhi it will contest in alliance with the BJP.
Harmeet Singh Kalka will contest from Kalkaji in south Delhi, Jitender Singh Shunty from Shahdara in east Delhi and Maninder Singh Sirsa from Rajouri Garden and Shyam Sharma from Hari Nagar, both in west Delhi, said Akali Dal Delhi president Manjit Singh G.K.
While Kalka and Shunty will contest on the Bharatiya Janata Party's lotus symbol, Sirsa and Sharma will contest on Akali Dal's symbol "scales".
The BJP had allocated four of Delhi assembly's 70 seats to the Akali Dal, a long-standing ally. The voting is due Dec 4.
In 2008 too, the Akali Dal contested four seats in Delhi.
The Congress Monday declared the names of candidates for 56 constituencies, retaining all its incumbent legislators. The Aam Aadmi Party has announced 65 candidates.
