The CBI Wednesday arrested the vice chairman of the Aligarh Development Authority (ADA) over his involvement in the Rs.6.5 crore mid-day meal scam, officials said.
Jitendra Bahadur Singh, a senior administrative officer of the 1984 batch, was found to be involved in the scam during his posting as chief development officer (CDO) of Mainpuri 2008-2011, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials said.
A team of CBI officers arrested him from his residence in Aligarh Wednesday. After taking transit remand from Aligarh, he was brought to Ghaziabad and produced before the court of special judge (anti-corruption) A.K. Gupta who sent him to judicial custody till July 26.
