All nine people accused of fire-bombing a truck in Jammu and Kashmir that left its cleaner dead have been booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA) and shifted to a jail here, police said.

Under the PSA, no court can grant bail to the detained person. The act is normally invoked against separatist leaders and militants in Jammu and Kashmir.

"Four more people have been booked under PSA for criminal assault" on the truck that was bound for the Kashmir Valley on October 9, an official in Udhampur said. "Five people were earlier booked under PSA.

All the nine have also been booked for murder.

The vicious attack left both occupants of the parked truck with serious burn injuries. They were shifted to New Delhi where the cleaner succumbed to injuries on Sunday morning, triggering violence in the Kashmir Valley.

Those booked under the PSA include Jasbir Singh, Rahul Sharma, Suneet Singh and Rameshwar Singh alias Guchhu.

The five booked earlier under PSA were Sandoor Singh, Danish alias Pamma, Harish Singh Katoch, Balbahadur Singh alias Abbu and Varinder Singh alias Kaka.
