Despite playing out a goalless draw against Mumbai City FC, FC Pune City coach David Platt praised his team for displaying an all-round performance in the Indian Super League (ISL) match at the D.Y. Patil Stadium here on Friday.
Both sides despite getting several chances failed to make the most of the opportunity, thus denying the fans much to cheer about on a clash between two Maharastrian sides.
"I am delighted with the team's effort. We weren't defensive, we wanted to score too. All our players were exceptional today," Platt said at the post match press conference here.
"We troubled Mumbai's goalkeeper. But points should not be underestimate at this point of time. The match could have gone either way. I want to look at this as a whole. Our performance was a controlled one," the coach said.
After draw on Friday, Pune stay in the second position with 15 points from 10 games, having won four, drawn three and lost three.
The team next will travel to the capital to take on Delhi Dynamos FC on November 19.
