Members of the European Parliament (EP) said in a resolution on Syria voted Thursday that alleviating the suffering of civilians must be a priority in addressing Syria issue.
"All parties to the conflict should facilitate the provision of humanitarian aid and assistance through all possible channels, including across borders and conflict lines, and ensure medical and humanitarian workers can operate safely," the resolution said.
It added that facilitating humanitarian access to civilians in need should also help to build confidence among the warring parties, as should local ceasefires.
