Formula One team McLaren's driver Fernando Alonso expects that the Mexican Grand Prix to be held here on Sunday will be a tough competition on an "interesting" circuit.
"I really enjoyed the race in Austin (in Texas last Sunday at the United States GP) and it was definitely one of the most exhilarating races for McLaren-Honda this year so far," Efe quoted Alsonso as saying on Tuesday.
"It was a hard fight, but we didn't give up. I hope we can repeat some of those battles in Mexico, but we're expecting a tough fight on a circuit that on paper won't suit our car," the 34-year-old stressed.
The Spaniard believes that the race will be interesting with no data available yet as it is the first time the Mexico City circuit has been included in F1 Grand Prix races.
Alonso noted that the circuit "looks like a great design with some interesting corners", adding that "I'm really excited about racing in Mexico".
"There's a big motorsport fan base in the country, so I'm sure the atmosphere at the track will be fantastic."
