Two-time Indian Open champion golfer S.S.P. Chawrasia on Tuesday said he is currently working on his short game ahead of the Panasonic Open in Japan starting April 20.

Interacting with media persons on the sidelines of the Calcutta Sports Journalists Club (CSJC) annual awards ceremony where he was conferred with the Sportsperson of the Year award, he said: "I am working on my short game now.

"That is the main area for us to score. Everyone can hit, but you feel the actual pressure during the short game. I am focused more on that and also on my overall game."

Chawrasia, for the record, won the Panasonic Open in 2014.

The best players from the Asian Tour will head to Japan for the four-day meet at the Chiba Country Club, Umesato course in Noda City, Chiba.

More than 30 Tour winners from over 15 countries including Chawrasia will tee off against a strong Japanese field that also features Hideto Tanihara and defending champion Yuta Ikeda from the Japan Golf Tour Organisation (JGTO).

Chawrasia will then take part in the 23rd Volvo China Open starting April 27.

"I'm getting ready. I've practised a lot for the last few days. I am working on my entire game. I am working with new coach Sandeep Varma (Delhi). I call him sometimes to travel with me. He has been there with me for sometime now.

"He was with me last two weeks before I won the Indian Open. He is not travelling with me to Japan or China or London. Sometimes when there is say alligment problem, I seek his help. Sometimes I send him videos of my shots. A third eye is always better," the 38-year old said.

Chawrasia also said that he will be taking part in a team event in London next month.

"It's a new event. It has been started this year. It will take place in London. It is called Golf success. I will be partnering Chikkarangappa S. This event is similar to the ISPS Handa World Cup of Golf one in Melbourne.

The format is similar to the World Cup. I will go for the event in first week of May," he said.

On Sergio Garcia's maiden Masters win recently, Chawrasia said he played many times with the Spaniard but could not follow the event.

"I have not seen the Masters. I have played with (Sergio) Garcia a lot of times. I played the final round in Rio with him."
