BJP president Amit Shah on Saturday warned people that Bihar will again see "jungle raj" if Lalu Prasad's RJD and the JD-U of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar won the assembly elections.

"If you don't want a return of jungle raj, vote for the BJP-led NDA, not the grand alliance of Lalu-Nitish," Shah told a public meeting here.

He said the Congress, an ally of the RJD and JD-U, would bring in corruption too.

Shah, who has been camping in Bihar for some days, said: "Give us (BJP) a chance to rule Bihar. We will turn it into no.1 state in development. There is a need for change in Bihar."

Later, while addressing party workers in Patna on Saturday evening, Shah told them to work hard to ensure a "historic verdict" for the BJP in the October-November polls.

"You should work hard to ensure such a victory for the BJP that people talk about it from Kanyakumari to Jammu and Kashmir. It is your duty. Our victory should give sleepless nights to our rivals in the country," he said.

Polling for the 243-member Bihar assembly will take place in five phases between October 12 and November 5. Votes will be counted on November 8.
