Andhra Pradesh government will constitute state security commission to recommend measures to strengthen security and law and order.

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy Friday approved a proposal in this regard at a high-level meeting to review security situation, officials sources said.

Home Minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy told reporters that the details of the commission would be announced soon.

The meeting was attended by the home minister, Director General of Police V. Dinesh Reddy and other top officials.

The home minister said municipal legislation would be suitably amended for installation of closed circuit television cameras in cities.

The proposal to constitute the security commission in line with the recommendations of the National Police Commission was first mooted after three terrorist attacks in Hyderabad in 2007. The proposal was renewed after Feb 26 twin bomb blasts at Dilsukhnagar here.
