The Nigerian Army on Thursday confirmed the rescue of another girl abducted by Boko Haram militants in the northeastern Borno state in April 2014.

The Army Colonel's spokesperson Usman Sani Kukasheka said in Lagos that another Chibok girl was rescued Thursday evening, Xinhua quoted a statement as saying.

The military spokesperson promised to provide more details later.

This followed the rescue of Amina Ali-Nkeki, the first Chibok girl to be rescued by Nigerian authorities. Ali-Nkeki was among a group of people rescued by Nigerian troops at Baale community in Borno state.

A total of 276 girls were abducted from their secondary school dormitories in Chibok town in April 2014, for which militant group Boko Haram claimed responsibility.

About 57 girls managed to escape later, but more than 200 remain missing.
