Swaraj India's national chief spokesperson Anupam was on Tuesday named the party's Delhi president.
Party chief Yogendra Yadav, who also appointed seven new office bearers of the state unit, described 29-year-old Anupam's appointment as his efforts to promote young leaders.
"Swaraj India makes a new beginning with appointment of Anupam as its Delhi state president. We have had the organisation restructured at all levels and gave the party's leadership into the hands of energetic young leaders. All the new seven office bearers appointed today, with average age of mere 35, are young energetic leaders..," he said at a media interaction at the Press Club.
Anupam said that the real task now was to fight against the "dirty politics" spreading across the country and the youth had a key role in this.
Yadav also said that his party has been keeping a strict watch on Delhi government's liquor policy and demanded the excise policy for the current fiscal be made public and people's feedback sought.
