The Saudi-led Arab coalition struck a military industrial complex in central Sanaa on Wednesday, wounding and displacing a number of civilians, witnesses told Efe news agency.
Consecutive airstrikes rocked the area surrounding the May 22 Complex that has been dominated by Shia Houthi rebels, located in the Suad Henesh neighbourhood in the capital.
Clouds of black smoke rose from the area, while several ambulances rushed to assist victims.
Most of the casualties occurred inside the industrial complex, the pro-Houthi Al-Masira television network reported, yet the number of victims was not yet known.
The explosions caused panic among the residents, who fled their homes on foot, according to witnesses.
Mohamed Hamud, a resident of Suad Henesh, told Efe that he woke up terrified with his walls and furniture shaking due to the heavy blasts.
"Most of the people hit the streets during the attack to flee the neighbourhood," he said.
