A Malaysian court Friday ordered the arrest of an Indian origin teacher's former husband and find her youngest child.
Due to a custody tussle between kindergarten teacher M. Indira Gandhi and her convert former husband Mohamad Riduan Abdulla, the Ipoh Syariah High Court Sep 29, 2009, granted custody of their three children to Abdulla, the Malaysian Star reported.
On March 11, 2010, the court allowed the children to be under Indira's care with once-a-week access given to the father.
When Abdulla failed to return their youngest daughter to his wife, the court cited him for contempt and ordered police to return the child to her mother.
On Wednesday, the Court of Appeal threw out Abdulla's all appeals and struck out only the main appeal, which is a citation for contempt against Abdulla for refusing to return the daughter to Indira.
Justice Lee Swee Seng gave a period of seven days to arrest Abdulla and bring him to the court.
