Within the framework of the 50th founding anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean), the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the Asean Jubilee Friendship Game here on Saturday.
Over 300 athletes competed in the four events of football, table tennis, badminton and tennis in My Dinh Indoor Athletics Gymnasium in Hanoi, Xinhua news agency reported.
Addressing the Asean Jubilee Friendship Game, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung, who later competed in the tennis event, said the Asean has become a dynamic community for common peace and prosperity.
He said that the friendly tourney enhanced solidarity, friendship, mutual understanding and connection among Asean diplomats as well as promoted a healthy life among the people.
Founded in 1967, Asean comprises of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
