French defender Aymeric Laporte has said that he is excited to wear the jersey of the national football team after he was called up for the first time.
In statements cited by the French Football Federation on Monday, the Athletic Bilbao player said that he has been following the French national team since he was young and even watched the friendly matches, and now he is ready, reports Efe.
The 22-year-old claimed that he has been waiting for the French call up for a while and stressed that he will demonstrate perseverance and humility.
The player now has a chance to play for France for the first time next Friday against Bulgaria, and three days later in Amsterdam against Holland in the qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
