Australia leadpfrogged South Africa to take the second place in the International Cricket Council (ICC) One-Day International (ODI) rankings, according the latest chart released Thursday.
Australia, who have 115 points, are leading an ongoing five-match ODI series against South Africa 2-1 and if they manage win the next two matches, they will move into first place with 117 points, edging out India by one-fifth of a point, as per the ICC release.
However, a South African victory in the next two matches would see the A.B. de Villiers-led side return to the second spot, a point adrift of India with Australia dropping to third.
Meanwhile, Aaron Finch's knock of 109 runs in the third ODI has elevated him 20 places to the 21st position in the batting rankings. In the bowling rankings, Mitchell Starc is the highest mover after Wednesday's victory, up 10 places to the 37th position.
