A Sydney woman has been sentenced to 22-and-a-half years in prison with a non-parole period of 16 years for murdering her six-year-old daughter, media reported Thursday.
Kristi Abrahams, 30, pleaded guilty to murdering her daughter Kiesha in July 2010.
Kiesha's remains were found in bushland in Sydney's west in early 2011, eight months after she was reported missing, reported Xinhua citing the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).
Justice Ian Harrison handed down the sentence Thursday in the Supreme Court in Sydney.
After Kiesha died, Abrahams and her partner, Robert Smith, kept her body in a suitcase for three days before disposing it.
Smith was jailed for 12 years in May for his role in Kiesha's death.
