For a hassle free journey during the full dress rehearsal of Independence Day, to be organised in the morning of Aug 13, police Saturday asked all Delhiites to avoid roads linking the Red Fort.
"Traffic restrictions will be on the roads around Red Fort between 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. on August 13 due to full dress rehearsal of Independence Day," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Shukla.
Roads from Netaji Subhash Marg from Delhi Gate to Chatta Rail, Lothian road from GPO Delhi to Chatta Rail, S.P. Mukherjee Marg from H.C. Sen Marg to Yamuna Bazar Chowk, Chandni Chowk to Red Fort chowk, New Darya Ganj road from Ring Road to Netaji Subhash Marg, link road from Esplanade Road to Netaji Subhash Marg will be restricted.
Vehicles may avoid Tilak Marg, Mathura Road, B.S.Z. Marg, Subhash Marg, J.L. Nehru Marg and Ring Road between Nizammuddin Bridge and ISBT bridge.
There shall be special checking of all vehicles, both private and commercial, entering the city from neighbouring states through border entry points, on the intervening nights of Aug 12 and 13.
No goods vehicles will be permitted between Nizamuddin bridge and Wazirabad bridge from the midnight of Aug 12 till 11 a.m. Aug 13.

Interstate buses will not be allowed between Maharana Pratap ISBT and Sarai Kale Khan ISBT from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. These buses may use G.T.Road, Wazirabad Road and NH-24.
Local city buses including DTC will not move on Ring Road during this time between Hanuman Setu and Bhairon Road T point.
"Normal bus service will be restored after 10 a.m.," said Shukla.
Mother Teresa Crescent road, Park Street road, Mandir Marg, Panchkuian Road, Rani Jhansi Marg, Pul Duffrin road and S.P. Mukherjee Marg can be used to reach New Delhi railway station.
All other directions from Ring Road, Kela Ghat Road, Zorawar Singh Marg, Mori Gate, Pul Duffrin, S.P. Mukherjee Marg can also be used to reach the station.
"Since the entire city will be under heightened security, barricades and checking will be intensified within the city and at the borders. Citizens are requested to plan their movements accordingly. For hassle free journey, commuters can avail the services of Delhi Metro," said Shukla.
