Mumbai, April 20 (IANS) If death rumours are any measure of an actor's success, then Ayushmann Khurrana has certainly arrived. The internet was abuzz earlier this week with rumours of the "Vicky Donor" actor's success in a skiing accident. But neither was he, nor was his family amused.
The rumours spread Wednesday evening.
"Ayushmann was shooting when the unsavoury rumour broke out. He was flooded with anxious inquiries. Initially, Ayushmann laughed off the rumours. But it soon became too much to handle," said a close friend of the actor.
This is not the first death hoax report about an Indian celebrity. Recently, similar reports on the 'death' of megastar Amitabh Bachchan and legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar were also circulated.
Reacting to these mischievous rumours, Lata said: "Such rumours only add to the life of the person who is killed by rumour-mongers. I truly wonder who spreads these strange rumours! In this era of quick and bulk communication, anyone can send a vicious SMS about anyone and spark off an ugly rumour. Do such people realise how disturbed near and dear ones get by these rumours?"
