Historical love saga "Bajirao Mastani" scooped up as many as nine awards at the Renault Sony Guild Awards 2016 ceremony with Ranveer Singh walking away with the Best Actor in Leading Role Award.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's story of 18th century Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao I, took home awards in Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Sound Design, Best Costume Design, Best Dialogue, Best Choreography and Best Actor in a Supporting Role categories.
Deepika might have missed an award for her act as Mastani in "Bajirao Mastani", but she clinched the Best Actress trophy for her Bengali avatar in "Piku".
Superstar Salman Khan was not far behind. His "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" won four awards including Best Film along with Best Screenplay, Best Story and Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
The award ceremony was held at Reliance Mediaworks, Film City here on Tuesday night. The Film & Television Producers Guild of India and Wizcraft International Entertainment announced the winners in Indian Cinema for the year 2015.

The evening also saw some incredible performances. Sonakshi Sinha opened the evening with a fantastic aerial entry and performed to a medley of songs including "Desi kalakkar", "DJ wale babu", "Abhi toh party shuru hui hai and "Banno tera swagger".
Kriti Sanon held the audience spellbound with a stunning performance and Ayushmann Khurrana had the stage on fire with some incredible moves.
Celebrating '25 years of Akshay Kumar', the star-studded night saw a special tribute to action superstar Akshay Kumar.
The action hero performed to some of his all-time hits including "Tu cheez badi hai mast", "Aflatoon", "Chura ke dil mera, "Mehbooba" and "Tip tip barsa paani". He was also presented with a special award which was conferred on him by Anil Kapoor.
Jeetendra received a Lifetime Achievement Award that was presented to him by his son Tusshar Kapoor, and actress Poonam Sinha.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra walked away with the award for Guild Global Honor for her US debut in "Quantico".
The Renault Sony Guild Awards 2016 will be telecast in January on Sony Entertainment Television channel.
