Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Sunday called up Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi to congratulate him on his party's magnificent victory in the Indian general election and expressed confidence that the two countries would continue to work together sincerely to solve any problem.
"I hope that the governments of the two neighbouring countries would continue to work sincerely in future like the past to solve any problem through bilateral discussion," she said.
Hasina's special assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil said in a statement that the Bangladesh PM called Modi Sunday and congratulated him on behalf of her government, people and Bangladesh Awami League.
During the telephonic conversation, Hasina said Bangladesh was always interested in maintaining good relations with the neighbouring countries.
She also invited Modi to visit her country, Shakil said.
