Barcelona will appeal before the Disciplinary Committee for Sports (TAD) over the two-match suspension of Uruguayan star footballer Luis Suarez due to his behaviour in the aftermath of the Copa del Rey clash against Espanyol.
A few days ago, the Spanish Football Federation appeals committee rejected the appeal to overturn the suspension of Suarez for incidents that took place at the Camp Nou stadium after the end of the first leg knockout round between the two teams, reports Efe.
Barcelona on Tuesday decided to file an appeal to TAD to reduce the suspension to one match only, while the Catalan club can appeal within 15 days.
Juan Martinez Munuera, referee of the match, said in his report that the Uruguayan forward waited for Espanyol players in the tunnel at the Camp Nou after the match and repeated several times that: "I am waiting for you, come here. You are a waste of space."
The referee added that such phrases led to confrontation between players from both clubs, where security personnel present there and the coaching staff of both teams had to intervene.
