A barge, carrying 900 tonnes of coal, sank in Bangladesh's Sandwip Channel near Chittagong port on Friday after hitting a buoy.
All 12 crew on board "MV Master Sohag" were rescued by nearby ships after the accident, bdnews24.com reported.
Ataul Kabir Ranju, deputy director of the private organisation that operated the vessel, said the ship was on its way to Khulna.
"It sank after hitting a buoy at Bhasantek around 2 p.m.," he said.
