Outgoing Pakistan High Commissioner Salman Bashir Thursday paid a farewell call on President Pranab Mukherjee and conveyed the "sincere desire" of Pakistan to forge better relations between the two countries.
Bashir called on President Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
He "thanked the President for the kind consideration and cooperation extended to him by the Government of India. The High Commissioner conveyed the greetings and good wishes of the leadership and people of Pakistan and their sincere desire to forge better relations between the two countries," a statement from the Pakistan High Commission said here.
President Mukherjee "reciprocated the sentiments and lauded the services of the High Commissioner for improvement of relations," the statement said.
