Qualifier Haadin Bava stunned top seed Abdullah Shaikh of Andhra Pradesh to storm into the final of the Solaris Club All-India Ranking Men's Tennis tournament here Thursday.
Playing the baseline game and using his powerful ground-strokes, Haadin wore down Shaikh in a three hour-long duel before winning 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 in the semi-final.
After winning the first set 6-4, Haadin found Shaikh making a comeback as the Andhra player took the second 6-3 and levelled the scores.
But Haadin did not give up and broke Shaikh twice to regain his winning touch.
The second semi-final saw Shahbaaz Khan beating second seed Vijay Kannan 6-2, 6-1 in 80 minutes.
Shaikh later combined with Shahbaaz to win the doubles title, beating the pair of Avnit Bendre and Nitten Kirrtane 6-1, 6-3.
