The Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament, scheduled to start from April 8, underwent changes in the playing schedule on Tuesday keeping in in mind the Kolkata municipal elections on April 18.
A Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) release said that the changes in match order were made after Kolkata Police made a request to alter the dates citing their inability to provide security during the elections.
"There will be no 'home' matches of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens from 12 April 2015 to 25 April 2015, as per the revised schedule. In all, the dates of three matches and timings of two other matches have been changed," Anurag Thakur, secretary of BCCI said in a release Tuesday.
The release said the match between defending champions KKR and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata, which was to be played at 8 pm on April 14, has been shifted to 8 pm on April 30.
KKR's 8 pm home match against Delhi Daredevils (DD) on April 28 has been rescheduled for an 8 pm start on May 7.

KKR's 8 pm away match against CSK at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on April 30 has now been rescheduled to an 8 pm start on 28 April.
Rajasthan Royals' (RR) 4 pm home match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 14 will now be start at 8 pm at the Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium, Motera, Ahmedabad while Royals' 8 pm game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SH) at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai, on May 7, will now be contested at 4 pm.
