A 15-member delegation of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) would undertake a two-day visit to Bhutanese capital Thimphu beginning May 12 to meet the himalayan nation's top political leadership and explore avenues for business cooperation, a chamber official said here.

"The visit will focus primarily on B2B meetings and B2G meetings and site visits. The delegation will also have meetings with the Bhutanese Prime Minister, its Minister of the Economic Affairs and the Minister of Finance, along with the Indian ambassador to the neighbouring country.

The delegation will be led by Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Alok Roy.

An MOU would be inked on behalf of the Bengal Chamber with the Bhutan Chamber to promote bilateral business between Eastern India and Bhutan.

"The visit will focus primarily on B2B meetings and B2G meetings and site visits. The delegation will also have meetings with the Hon'ble Prime Minister of Bhutan, The Minister of the Economic Affairs and the Minister of Finance, along with the Ambassador of Indian Embassy in Bhutan."

The business delegation to Bhutan is an initiative of the newly instituted Confederation of Eastern Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CECCI).
