The West Bengal CID on Monday submitted a charge sheet against five people for raping a septuagenarian nun inside a convent in Nadia district in March.
A gang of bandits broke into the Jesus and Mary Convent in Ranaghat on March 14 and brutalised the sister superior before escaping with several lakh rupees.
Five people, including four Bangladeshi nationals, have been named in the charge sheet filed before the court of additional chief judicial magistrate in Ranaghat.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested six people so far in this connection.
"Five accused have been charged under several sections, including rape, dacoity and criminal conspiracy," Special Superintendent CID Chirantan Nag said.
The CID is likely to file a supplementary charge sheet naming the other accused.

One of the prime accused Nazrul Islam, a Bangladeshi national, was arrested by the CID here on June 18.
The incident created a nationwide outrage with the Prime Minister's Office as well as the National Human Rights Commission taking cognisance of the matter.
The survivor subsequently left the state for an undisclosed location.
