In a bid to generate awareness on different kinds of pollution, the West Bengal government is planning to produce a short film, an official said on Tuesday.
West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB) chairman Kalyan Rudra said the telefilm produced by the state government, will deal with the various aspects of pollution including air and water.
"We are hoping it will be completed before the Durga Puja. This will be part of a continued campaign to spread awareness on how to reduce pollution. The funds will be provided by the state government," he said.
During the day the WBPCB and state environment ministry distributed 500 lead-free paint kits to idol makers in the state.
State Environment Minister Sudarshan Ghosh Dastidar said special mobile vans will be stationed at marquees during the Durga Puja to sensitise people on environmental issues.
