Berlin cruised to a 3-0 victory to inflict Hamburg the second loss in a row while Monchengladbach extended their winning run with a 2-0 victory over Wolfsburg in the 8th round in Bundesliga.
Berlin reaped their fourth victory of the season on Saturday after beating Hamburg 3-0 thanks to the goal by Salomon Kalou and Vedad Ibisevic's late double strike, Xinhua reported.
The hosts caught a perfect start on home soil as Berlin's Mitchell Weiser assisted Salomon Kalou, who slotted home from 17 meters into the top left corner at the 15th minute.
Hamburg lacked in ideas and were unable to overcome Berlin's defence. Meanwhile, the hosts sealed the deal in the closing period through Vedad Ibisevic, who scored twice within two minutes.
With the result, Berlin jump onto the 4th place for now while Hamburg slip to the 11th position.
Monchengladbach extended their winning streak to three games under interim coach Ander Schubert. The "Foals" put the game beyond doubt with two second-half goals to inflict the "Wolves" the second loss of the season.

Both teams were unable to build up pressure, thus goal-scoring opportunities remained a rare occurrence at the first half. Things changes after the restart as Monchengladbach picked up the pace to break the deadlock at the 76 minute through substitute Havard Nordveit, who scored with a volley sideways scissor-kick eight from 20 meters eight minutes after his fielding.
The "Foals" gained momentum and doubled the lead three minutes later after Lars Stindl's through ball allowed Ibrahim Traore to beat Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio into the bottom left.
With the third consecutive win Monchengladbach move up to the 13th place whilst Wolfsburg slip to the 7th position.
