Yuki Bhambri reached the semi-finals of the $125000 Tashkent ATP Challenger tennis tournament with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Jan Satral of the Czech Republic here on Thursday.
The win ensured that Yuki will enter the top 100 in the singles rankings when the new list is released by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) next week. He is currently ranked 105.
The 23-year-old needed just over a hour to won the quarter-final match at the Olympic Tennis school courts.
The Delhi lad awaits a semi-final clash with the winner of the match between top seeded Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan and seventh seeded Evgeny Donskoy of Russia.
Bhambri broke the 25-year-old Satral in the third game of the first set and went to win the set 6-3. In the second set Yuki was broken in the second game, but he broke him back in the third game and went on to win.
