A Bihar Police team was on Monday sent to Bengaluru to arrest the prime accused behind an objectionable video clip posted on social networking site Facebook that allegedly incited communal tension in Saran district, officials said.

"The civil court in Chapra, the district headquarter of Saran, issued an arrest warrant late on Sunday night against Mubarak, alias Sipahi, for posting the video clip," a district official said.

Police said Sipahi, the prime accused, is a resident of Maker Dakshini Tola in Saran and is currently working in Bengaluru.

On Saturday, two others were arrested and remanded to judicial custody till August 20, for allegedly circulating the clip among local residents that led to violent clashes in the area.

Saran District Magistrate Dipak Anand said the situation was tense but under control. He has ordered all government and private schools in Saran to remain closed on Monday as a precautionary measure.

"We have identified trouble-makers and those involved in torching and ransacking shops in markets and damaging public properties on the basis of CCTV footage and have appealed to people not to pay heed to rumours," he said.

Anand has already suspended the Station House Officer of Maker police station for failing to control the clashes, that started after the clip went online last week.
