Goa Governor and litterateur Mridula Sinha was Wednesday conferred with an honorary doctorate by the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University.
An official statement issued on Wednesday by the Goa government's Directorate of Information and Publicity said the 72-year-old Sinha was conferred the D.Litt degree by Bihar Governor Kesari Nath Tripathi at the convocation of the Muzaffarpur-based university on Wednesday.
Sinha -- who was appointed Goa governor in August last year -- is a post-graduate from the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University and is a well-known short-story writer and novelist in Hindi. She has won several awards for her contribution to literature.
