The government is set to bring a bill on the coal block auction in the Lok Sabha next week.
The Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Bill, 2014 will replace an ordinance that was promulgated to begin auction of coal mines that were cancelled by the Supreme Court.
The bill will be introduced in the Lok Sabha.
The legislative proposals for the third week of the winter session in the Lok Sabha also include the Payments and Settlements Systems (Amendment) Bill, 2014, the Appropriation Acts (Repeal) Bill, 2014, the Supplementary Demands for Grants and the related Appropriation Bills besides the Anti-hijacking Bill, 2010.
In the Rajya Sabha, since the house barely functioned for the whole week, the bills listed for last week will be taken up.
These include the Textiles Undertakings (Nationalisation) Laws (Amendment and Validation) Bill, 2014 to replace an ordinance, the Constitution Scheduled Castes Orders (Amendment) Bill, 2014, the Central Universities Bill, 2014 and the School of Planning and Architecture Bill, 2014 that have already been passed by the Lok Sabha during this session.
A government statement said the Lok Sabha has so far passed nine bills, while the Rajya Sabha passed six.
