India's ace rifle shooters, among them former Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra, warmed up in style for the upcoming World Cup when they returned a rich haul of three gold and two bronze medals in the just concluded International Shooting Competition of Hannover (ISCH).
Bindra won both the individual and team gold medals in his pet 10-metre air rifle event. Upcoming talent Chain Singh added the 50-metre rifle prone gold to his 10m air rifle team title in the event concluded at the National Shooting Centre on Sunday.
Bindra and London Olympics bronze medallist Gagan Narang were part of the team event. Narang also won the bronze medal in the men's 50m rifle 3 positions event.
Rising woman rifle shooter Apurvi Chandela, who bagged an Olympic quota place in Korea, also won a bronze medal in the air rifle event.
All the medal winners will be in action next week in Fort Benning in the US for the ISSF Rifle/Pistol World Cup and aiming to bag as many 2016 Rio Olympic Games quota places as possible for their country.
